Congratulations to Riva for her 6th place win in the Mustang Heritage Extreme Makeover competition! The competition consisted of three classes, Handling and Conditioning, Pattern, and Trail. Riva was announced in the Top Ten placement Friday afternoon after the Trail class, and was standing at 5th over all. Gambler was cool as a cucumber for his trail class, and good as gold throughout the competition. Saturday morning Riva and Gambler showed off Gambler's favourite move, the sliding stop, in the Reining pattern. This score combined with their Freestyle Saturday night determined placings in the Top Ten. Everything worked like clockwork Saturday night in the finals as friends and family helped to set up the props and music for Riva and Gambler's freestyle. What a performance! From working the flag to sitting and playing Poker, Gambler was partner to Riva's creative and talented choreography. Thank you to everyone who showed up to cheer her from the stands, complete with signs! We all held our breath for the auction because the most important prize of the day would be for Gambler to go home with Riva. It was a bit close, but she won him back!

Riva is Extremely Thankful for everyone who made this possible:

Aaron did a couple of demonstrations at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo this year, one being an educational demo about how to help parents assess and evaluate the best horse for their child. Aaron's 15 year old son Troy, and 5 year old daughter Heather, did an exceptional job demonstrating how proper training in Natural horsemanship can build a strong, safe relationship between your child and their horse!

The other demo was on how to desensitize your horse to motion, touch, and noise! It was an awesome demo and he had a huge turnout!

The Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society had a record breaking horse expo this year in turnout, and adoptions! They adopted out 32 horses to their forever homes!!

Thank You Bluebonnet for all the hard work you put into making this truly Amazing event so successful for these horses!!

Colt starting challenge USA, Oct 3rd & 4th, 2014

We are very proud to announce that Michael Battenfield won the colt starting challenge in Warner, Oklahoma. At the challenge, contestants use natural horsemanship methods to gentle and ride the horse. The horses in the event have never been bridled, saddled or ridden.

The first day the contestants have 2 one hour sessions to work with their horse in a roundpen, with a half hour break in between. All the contestants work with their horses at the same time and explain to the audience what they are doing.
On the second day the contestants have 2 sessions again to work with their horse, only this time both sessions are 45 minutes instead of one hour, again with a half hour break in between. In the second session contestants can leave their roundpen to ride in the arena to prepare for the obstacle course.

Next all the roundpens are removed from the arena and each contestant has 15 minutes to ride their horse through an obstacle course in the arena.

Michael will be competing in the colt start challenge again in Huntsville, TX, October 24th & 25th

The 2013 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge

October 19, 2013, at the Travis County Expo Center the England family supported the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society with their 6th annual fundraiser, the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.

Aaron demonstrated the level of finesse that can be reached with communication in natural horsemanship, most notably with a smooth sliding stop from a gallop, bridleless, and fun cow work with his son Troy playing the role of ‘cow’. This was Troy’s first public appearance with Hershey, his mustang, and they told the story of their journey to the Mustang Million last month. Riva had great success in the Training Challenge last year with Seraphina, a rescue Thoroughbred. This year she returned to the Expo with both Seraphina and Shine Like A Diamond, the mustang she adopted for the Mustang Million competition last month.

Together the England family demonstrated the truly Versatile application of natural horsemanship in improving communication with horses for any sport.

Thank you Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society for the opportunity to be a part of a such a great event!

Mustang Million 2013

first class.
Riva & Shine Like a Diamond

Michael & Woodrow in their
Top 20 Performance.

The Mustang Million competition took place in Ft. Worth, Tx, September of 2013.

England’s Versatile Horsemanship was represented by three competitors and five mustangs, in eighteen classes total with fantastic results. What a great example Troy, Riva, and Michael, set for the EVH Program!

After only 5 months of working with his first horse, Hershey, Troy competed in the 3 classes of the Youth division. Troy placed 2nd overall as Reserve Champion for his age division, 8-12. Great job Troy and Hershey!

Riva showed two mustangs, Shimmer of Gold and Shine Like a Diamond, in 2 divisions, Walk/Trot and Specialty. She placed in the top 5 in each of her three classes, with a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, with Shimmer of Gold. Riva beautifully exhibited the true versatility of the EVH Program with Shine Like a Diamond over the 3 days and 6 classes entered: Dressage, Jumping, Freestyle, Reining Pattern, Cow Work and Trail. Congratulations Riva for placing in the Top 10, on average. Thank you for demonstrating the versatility of the Mustang Horse, and how the natural foundation of the EVH
Program improves performance in all disciplines!

Michael Battenfield, Certified Colt Starter and Difficult Horse Trainer, of the EVH Apprentice Program, proved his hard work of the last 5 months. He showed two horses, Anya and Woodrow, and ranked an average of the 90th percentile in all his classes, not to mention making it to the top 20 Finals where he placed 14th overall out of 158 competitors. Congratulations Michael for your outstanding accomplishment!

A big Thank You! to all of our sponsors and supporters. We could not have done this without y’all!
